Munich, 27.07.2006 - CTS EVENTIM AG, listed on the SDAX exchange (ISIN DE 0005470306), announces its acquisition of 100% of the shares in TicTec AG, domiciled in Basel. Established in the year 2000, the company has become a force to be reckoned with on what was previously an almost monopolised ticketing market in Switzerland. As the operator of the TicTec system and the www.tictec.ch Internet platform, it is now one of the leading providers of ticketing services in Switzerland.
TicTec is partnered with numerous event promoters, and operates a network of more than 70 box offices in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, including box offices in stores of Swiss retail chains Migros and Manor. In the field of new technologies, TicTec is known as an innovator, and for some time has also been providing systems for electronic access control and mobile ticketing (i.e. using mobile phones as digital tickets), for example. For the current business year, the company aims at a ticket volume of more than one million and revenues of over 2 million Swiss francs.
The price paid for the company is in the single-digit millions. The acquisition will be financed with free cash flow.
By acquiring TicTec, the EVENTIM Group is successfully implementing its strategy of internationalising its ticketing operations, further reinforcing its position as European market leader in the ticketing field. Following successful implementation of in-house ticketing systems in the Zurich Opera House and Schauspielhaus and other Swiss theatres, CTS EVENTIM has now added a national network platform covering the whole of Switzerland. This will generate additional attractive content for its own Internet ticketing portals.
