Munich, 24 March 2009. CTS EVENTIM AG, listed on the SDAX exchange (ISIN DE0005470306), achieved an increase of around 27% in consolidated net income in the 2008 business year and therefore intends to distribute a significantly higher dividend to its shareholders this year. At the Shareholders’ Meeting to be held on 14 May 2009, the Management Board and Supervisory Board will propose that a dividend of EUR 0.61 per share (prior year: EUR 0.49). Around EUR 14.6 million is to be paid out in total, compared to EUR 11.8 million in 2008. This will be the fourth dividend in succession that the Group has paid
2008 an excellent business year: revenues up 5.2% to EUR 404 million
Ticketing for music, cultural and sports events is a booming trade, even in times of financial and economic crisis. More than 70 million tickets were sold in 2008 using the systems developed and operated by the EVENTIM Group. The company has proven yet again that it is capable of strong growth and earnings even in a troubled economic climate. In the 2008 business year, the CTS Group generated EUR 404.4 million in revenues (2007: EUR 384.4 million, up 5.2%), an EBIT of EUR 50.3 million (2007: EUR 47.1 million, up 6.8%) and an EBITDA of EUR 57.8 million (2007: EUR 53.9 million, up 7.3%). The cash flow for fiscal 2008 was EUR 44.4 million (2007: EUR 38.7 million, up 14.9%). Consolidated net income for the year Group earnings amounted to EUR 29.2 million, a year-on-year increase of approximately 27% (2007: EUR 23.0 million) and equivalent to earnings per share of EUR 1.22 (2007: EUR 0.96).
Demand for tickets in 2009 remains at constantly high level The Management Board expects demand for tickets to the concerts and tours offered by CTS to remain consistently high during the current business year. Over the next few months, a bevy of international stars, such as Bruce Springsteen, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Pink, AC/DC and Coldplay, will be performing what are sure to be sold-out concerts in German halls and stadiums. The company will continue to focus on consistent growth of its Internet ticketing operations and on international expansion.
