▪ CTS EVENTIM has won contracts for two IHF handball world championships, covering 164 matches and more than 1.3 million tickets.

▪ The German Handball Federation (DHB) and CTS EVENTIM have also agreed a longterm extension for their existing partnership, which covers all home matches of the DHB’s national teams.

Dortmund/Hamburg, 12 Jan. 2024 – CTS EVENTIM, a leading international provider of ticketing services and live entertainment, is the official ticketing partner for two major handball tournaments: the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship and the German matches of the 2025 IHF Women’s World Championship. The DHB and CTS EVENTIM have also agreed a long-term extension for their existing partnership, which covers all home matches of the DHB’s national teams.

The 30th IHF Men’s World Championship will be held in 2027. The International Handball Federation (IHF) awarded the event to Germany in February 2020. It is expected to take place from 14 to 31 January 2027. With 112 matches between 32 teams, the tournament will offer around one million seats for fans.

The 27th IHF Women’s World Championship will take place from 27 November to 14 December 2025 in Germany and the Netherlands. The venues for the 52 matches on German soil are the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, the Arena Trier, and the famous Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. A total of 350,000 tickets will be on sale to fans. Stuttgart and Trier will together host matches for four groups in the first round, while Dortmund will host two groups in the main round and two quarter-finals. Presales are expected to start in autumn 2024.

The contracts were awarded through a bidding process. CTS EVENTIM scored highly on, among other things, its powerful and reliable technologies, and the reach and performance of its sales channels.

Mark Schober, CEO, German Handball Federation (DHB): “Ticketing is essential to the economic success of our major events. EVENTIM proved that its impressive sales power, vast expertise and state-of-the-art technology could fill venues for the 2019 World Championship. After a thorough evaluation stage, we’re delighted that EVENTIM will again be at our side as a reliable partner for the upcoming tournaments and international matches.”

Alexander Ruoff, Chief Operating Officer, CTS EVENTIM: “We’re extremely happy to be continuing our close partnership with the DHB. Winning a contract from the world’s largest handball association reflects our successful work in the sports segment, which includes the Olympic Games and multiple world and European championships across a variety of disciplines. First-class ticketing is a major part of the fan experience and adds to the magic of live sport.”
