CTS EVENTIM: Strong growth

Ad hoc Announcement

Group revenue rises 19% to EUR 249.0 million / EBIT grows by around 45% to EUR 35.3 million / Ticketing revenue almost 40% higher / Internet ticket volume increases by around 55%

Munich, 18.08.2009. CTS EVENTIM AG, listed on the SDAX exchange (ISIN DE0005470306), remained decoupled from the global economic and financial crisis in the first half of 2009 and grows at a double-digit rate in its two segments, Ticketing and Live Entertainment.

In the period from 1 January to 30 June 2009, the CTS Group generated EUR 249.0 million in revenue (HY1/2008: EUR 209.0 million, up 19.1%), an EBIT of EUR 35.3 million (HY1/2008: EUR 24.4 million, up 44.7%) and an EBITDA of EUR 39.5 million (HY1/2008: EUR 27.9 million, up 41.8%). Earnings per share increased to EUR 0.76 for the first half-year, compared to EUR 0.53 in HY1/2008. The cash flow for the reporting period was EUR 29.7 million (HY1/2008: EUR 21.7 million).

In the Ticketing segment, substantially higher revenue and earnings figures were mainly attributable, once again, to high-margin Internet ticket sales. The CTS Group sold around 5.7 million tickets via the Internet – a year-on-year increase of around 55% (HY1/2008: 3.7 million). More than 141 million visitors were logged by the online portals operated by Eventim (HY1/2008: 94 million). With revenue at EUR 67.1 million before consolidation of segments (HY1/2008: EUR 47.9 million, up 39.9%), an EBIT of EUR 18.7 million was generated. This figure is 66.8% higher than the EUR 11.2 million achieved in HY1/2008. EBITDA, at EUR 21.9 million, was up 58.4% year-on-year (HY1/2008: EUR 13.8 million).

The Live Entertainment segment was also very successful in the first half of 2009. The segment generated EUR 183.4 million in revenue (HY1/2008: EUR 162.6 million, up 12.8%). EBIT came in at EUR 16.6 million (HY1/2008: EUR 13.2 million, up 26.0%), while EBITDA increased to EUR 17.7 million (HY1/2008: EUR 14.1 million, up 25.6%).

For the 2009 business year as a whole (31.12.), the Management Board expects the Group to progress well and anticipates yet another year-on-year improvement in financial performance. In 2008, CTS achieved a Group EBIT figure of EUR 50.3 million. The fourth quarter is traditionally the strongest for the Ticketing segment. The Group will continue to focus on consistent expansion of its Internet ticketing operations and on international expansion.

The full interim report will be available on the Internet at www.eventim.de in both German and English, in an online version and in download form, as from 28 August 2009.
