▪ In doing so, CTS EVENTIM has ensured that the Arena will be finished on schedule to host the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Munich/Milan, 14 Sept. 2023 - CTS EVENTIM, a leading international provider of ticketing services and live entertainment, has started the second construction phase of what will become Italy’s biggest and most modern multifunctional indoor arena. The ARENA in Milan’s Santa Giulia area will open up new opportunities for entertainment and sports events and provide an unprecedented level of service for artists, promoters and fans alike – all in an innovative and sustainable venue.

As the developer and future operator of the Arena, CTS EVENTIM has appointed the Italian construction consortium ETERIA as general contractor. The consortium comprises two of Italy’s major industrial groups, Itinera (ASTM Group) and Vianini Lavori (Caltagirone Group). The partners have years of experience in realising large-scale projects, and their efficiency, skill and reliability will bring the highest degree of certainty to EVENTIM’s ARENA project.

CTS EVENTIM previously demonstrated its abilities when, in collaboration with subsoil engineering company Trevi, it completed the first construction phase (the pile foundation) in only three months, wrapping it up on time within the schedule. With ETERIA now on board, the project moves seamlessly into the second phase and construction continues without delay.

Klaus-Peter Schulenberg, CEO of CTS EVENTIM, says: “We are proud to be able to collaborate with highly qualified partners with whom we share the goal of creating a new iconic landmark for Milan and an innovative, multipurpose space that will become a focal point for sports and live entertainment not only for Milan but for all of Italy.”

The Arena, which was designed by architect David Chipperfield in collaboration with the international engineering firm Arup, will have a capacity of 16,000 and will be framed by a plaza offering more than 10,000 square meters of space for summer festivals and outdoor events.
