CTS EVENTIM Sports GmbH concludes exclusive five-year contract with Füchse Berlin

All ticketing for the first-division handball club to be handled in future by eventim.tixx

Four first-division teams from Berlin now bank on EVENTIM Sports

Hamburg, 2 December 2008 – CTS EVENTIM Sports GmbH is intensifying its activities in the field of handball ticketing. Füchse Berlin are now the sixth handball club in the German handball league (first and second division) to bank on services provided by the Hamburg-based ticketing specialist. The five-year partnership will start on 1 May 2009.

From 2009 onwards, tickets for Füchse Berlin matches will be conveniently generated by the proven eventim.tixx sports ticketing software system and will be available on the national sales network operated by the EVENTIM Group. The exclusive contract also includes the OLS and eventim.access mobile systems. Commenting on the deal, Arndt Scheffler, Managing Director of CTS Eventim Sports GmbH, said that, “Following the partnerships already concluded by EVENTIM Sports in Berlin with Hertha BSC, ALBA and the Eisbären, we are now enlarging the exclusive circle of premium clients in Berlin considerably with Füchse Berlin, a quite exceptional club.” Bob Hanning, Manager of Füchse Berlin: “I was quickly convinced by the broad range of ticket marketing services and the technology deployed by EVENTIM Sports – we like partnering with the best in the business, also in the ticketing field.”

For EVENTIM Sports, handball has been a dominant theme in 2008. The ‘Berlin Foxes’ are now the fourth new handball client to be won over to the market leader’s ticketing systems.

The services provided by the CTS EVENTIM Group are used by more than 70 clubs, associations and sport promoters in about 20 different disciplines, including football, handball, ice hockey, tennis, Formula 1, DTM, winter sports and others. In the German first-division football league alone, almost two-thirds of the clubs are now working with EVENTIM systems. Among other channels, EVENTIM Sports operates the web-based ‘eventim.Tixx’ information and ticket reservation system and the ‘eventim.FaRM’ CRM system. In the current business year, a ticket volume of well over 11 million tickets is expected for EVENTIM Sports alone.
